It hasn’t been the debut year as senior coach that Zac Tisdale would have hoped for, but the young leader will go again in a bid to lift Daylesford back up the Central Highlands Football League ladder.

Tisdale and his side concluded the season with defeat at the hands of Dunnstown on Saturday, ending in 14th spot on the table with just two wins.
The playing coach took over from Marcus Goonan at the end of the 2017 season and has confirmed he will honour the second year of his deal in 2019.
Despite the tough season on-field, Tisdale is excited by what lies ahead.
“The year hasn't gone to plan but that hasn't deterred me and I can't wait to get stuck into 2019,” Tisdale said.
Tisdale pointed at the club’s lack of an under-18 team in 2016 and 2017 as a reason behind the senior side’s poor performances.
“...that's showing with the depth issues we've had all season,” he said. “We've been in the majority of our games this year, but we haven't been able to maintain our pressure and teams get a hold of us and kick scores quickly.
“So overall a disappointing year, but we know our best can match it so we just need to get better at maintaining that level of football.”
Tisdale played most of his junior football at Daylesford, winning under-15 and under-18 premierships. He returned to the club as a player in 2017 before taking over as senior coach.
“Our major goal is to improve everything we do during the week. We want to improve how we train and how we prepare,” he said.
“If we do that, Saturdays will start reflecting that and we can get back to winning games of football.”
This weekend, the finals series will get underway with games scheduled at Learmonth and Waubra on Saturday and Buninyong and Dunnstown on Sunday.
