After being in Daylesford for seven years, the restaurant has re-located to Lygon Street in Carlton, while a new restaurant with the same philosophy, Sakana, will open at the Camp Street location this week.
Sakana will serve Japanese food, although the menu will also feature a wider variety of Asian cuisine than its predecessor, Kazukis.
“There is a high demand for Asian cuisine here,” Mrs Tsuya said.
She said her family loved Daylesford and would continue to be based out of the town so their children, aged two, 10 and 12, could grow up in the country just as they did.
“We have many great neighbours and friends here,” she said.
Mr Tsuya said he loved making customers happy and championing the region’s produce. He said Kazukis would continue to showcase its produce and wine at the Carlton location.
