The Central Highlands Football League website currently shows that the Bombers’ playing list totalled 43 points, one more than the allocation of 42.
It is understood that an administrative error regarding junior footballer Fraser Hunt is behind the breach. It is believed Hunt initially came up in the online system as a one-point player, but has since been adjusted to a value of three. This re-evaluation is due to his recent transfer from the Ballarat Football League.
The Courier understands AFL Goldfields is aware of the breach and is looking into the circumstances that led to the Bombers exceeding the cap.
Buninyong is second on the senior ladder, while Learmonth sits eighth, just percentage inside the finals bracket. The Bombers meet Newlyn this Saturday, while the Lakies take on Ballan.
