The artwork, created by artist David Bromley, was installed atop the Daylesford Newsagency to the delight of many residents. 

However, it has been revealed the piece was installed without a permit granted by Hepburn Shire Council, who has requested the piece be removed. 

Council’s Development Manager, Justin Fiddes, said Vincent Street is subject to a heritage overlay, which conserves the street’s heritage, as a part of its planning scheme.

“What this means is a planning permit is required for building and works, including the installation of the signs and art work.

“The landowner has not applied for planning permission and is therefore in breach of the Hepburn Planning Scheme and has been asked to remove the art work,” he said.
