Chair of Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre, Gina Lyons, said the centre’s latest program offered some fun new activities.
One such activity is a bread making class with chef Narelle Lucas, who specialises in organic, home style cooking.
“A perfect activity for a cold Saturday afternoon is bread making. Narelle Lucas has been a chef for over 20 years and will guide you through the fundamentals of bread making so you can fill your home with the delicious smells of freshly made bread.”
“Narelle will follow up a few weeks later with a cheese making course so you can pair the bread and cheese together,” Ms Lyons said.
Another new addition to the program is the sparkling wine masterclass.
“Amie Brulee has recently finished her PhD on the French/Australian wine industry so is eminently qualified to guide you through sparkling wines, learning about the history of production methods, varieties and tastings,” Ms Lyons said.
Ms Lyons said other new additions to the program were more career based, like events management and customer service.
“Both of these courses are being delivered by professionals with extensive industry experience.
“These courses are ideally suited to people who are exploring the idea of a career or wanting to update their existing skills,” she said.
The centre will continue to run the responsible serving of alcohol, first aid and computer skills workshops as well as offering mentoring on digital media projects.
The centre is also offering a wide range of hobby courses including floristry, tai chi classes, mindfulness and guided relaxation, Italian conversation classes, French grammar and conversation classes, a men’s group, a leading women’s group, poetry discussions, an overlocker master class, fruit pruning and crocheting groups.
