The Pick My Project initiative allows people in regional communities to put forward their ideas for funding.
The state government is giving away $30 million through the initiative and gives every Victorian over the age of 16 an opportunity to share their ideas for projects that would make their community a better place.
We know that locals know best and Pick My Project is a wonderful opportunity for community ideas to become a reality.
- Minister for Regional Development, Jaala Pulford.
People living in regional communities across Victoria have access to a $15 million pool of project funds, with a minimum of $1 million guaranteed per Regional Partnership Area.
Prospective community projects are eligible for funding of between $20,000 to $200,000 to get off the ground.
Applicants are required to submit an idea which would help to build a stronger community and would need to be backed by a local organisation, community group, school, council or other eligible group. As such, the project could be brought to life within a year.
All applications will be published online in August, so people are able to view applications and vote for their favourites.
Minister for Regional Development, Jaala Pulford said the initiative is a wonderful opportunity.
“We know that locals know best and Pick My Project is a wonderful opportunity for community ideas to become a reality.
“Our nine Regional Partnerships are always setting the agenda with brilliant and inspiring ideas from their local communities – this is the chance for those ideas, no matter how big or small to come to fruit.
“There’s $15 million available for regional areas, with funding ranging from $20,000 to $200,000 per project – so there is every reason to have a go,” she said.
The simple application process takes less than half-an-hour and can be completed online at www.pickmyproject.vic.gov.au.
