The plan reflects council’s commitment to the principles of the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Victorian Disability Act (2006) by seeking to provide equitable and dignified access to all council’s services, facilities, programs, communications, planning and employment processes.
The Disability Advisory Committee will represent people living with a disability in Hepburn Shire.
The committee will work closely with the council to address barriers to access and inclusion in the community and monitor the progress and implementation of the plan.
The council is seeking people who may have a lived experience of physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or neurological impairments.
Family members, carers and disability service providers are also welcome to apply.
Applications close on 22 August 2018.
For further information and the application form, contact Deb Westin, Rural Access Officer, ondwestin@hepburn.vic.gov.au or call 0428 025 220.
