The under 11s played Bacchus Marsh in an away game at Masons Lane Reserve. It was a tight game in the first half with only one goal scored by the Saints. The second half was a bit different, as four more goals were scored. Bacchus got one goal and Daylesford got three. Goal scorers were Tate Koleski , with a hat-trick and Frey Pelham with one goal.
Under 11s Girls:
Though low in numbers, the girls were high in spirits. It was about five minutes in when the trumpeting cry of the reinforcements came in the form of debutantes Ruby and Arabella.
The midfield was a tough place to be this day, but number 6, Ava, showed her developing skill, strength on the ball and eye for a pass with a brilliant performance admired by many. Evie showed her adaptability and perseverance from changing from forward, to goalie and defense and approached all with gusto. She had great attempts at goals and great defense.
In all, it was a fantastic performance making their coach and supporters very proud, with a fabulous second half effort in particular. The girls wore the crest of the foot club with pride and the footy club is very proud to have them.
U13s:
The under 13s, who currently sit on top of the ladder, had another successful day out playing an away game against third on the ladder, Bacchus Marsh. The saints won the game 2-0. The opposition was stiff but the Saints managed to keep a lot of the action in their attacking half for a good proportion of the match. Persistence and determination paid off with a win. Goal scorers were Mehdi Bennani and Zach Koleski.
Under 15s:
The Saints faced the completion leaders who were at the top of their game. They managed sporadic forays forward and nearly scored on a few occasions but were mostly outclassed by a tall, fast and tactically astute opponent who were able to come forward in numbers. North eventually ran out winners by twelve to nil.
Seniors:
The Senior Saints played a great game, coming back from one goal down at half time, to win 4-1 against North United. The game looked like a certain loss or draw at best but with some brilliance from Dragi Koleski, the deadlock was broken.
Josh Butler had his best game of the season, scoring a cracker and setting up some useful players, while Sean Luduke acted as the transformer of pass to goal. The defense also did well, especially Andrew Barnham, Richard Malter and Francis Rockwall.
The win leaves Daylesford in the top four.
