The funding is up for grabs as part of the Pick My Project community grants initiative, which has extended its application deadline to July 8. 

Community organisations can make applications for their sustainability project, computer literacy class, sporting facility upgrade, initiatives for small business owners, agricultural project, or any other ideas which need funding to help make the Central Highlands community an even better place to live.

Its the first time the grants initiative has run in Victoria in an effort to support communities to make improvements. 

Great ideas are in with a chance to receive between $20,000 and $200,000 from the Victorian government to get their project off the ground.

Once all applications have been received and assessed, Victorians will be able to vote for their favourite projects in their local community.

This is when applicants will need to promote their project idea to their family, friends and neighbours to vote for, so everyone gets involved. Voting will be open from July to August.
