The Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey is an annual survey conducted by the Department of Transport, Planning and Local Infrastructure.
It is designed to measure community satisfaction in terms of local government performance.
Council has experienced solid improvements across all areas of performance, apart from its overall direction which was one point lower than last year.
One aspect which the council has improved on is customer service, having increased by nine points.
Other improvements on the previous years results were seen in the categories of community consultation, advocacy and making decisions.
Community satisfaction with sealed local roads had also increased by nine points.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Bruce Lucas said that over the last twelve months the council had put a focus on improving its customer service.
“Over the past year, council has been working hard across all our teams to improve the way we engage with the community, particularly through customer service.
“This focus has resulted in greatly improved results across the board in the survey and we are pleased to see this effort making a difference,” he said.
