Documentaries are becoming increasingly popular in our increasingly virtual world.
In an effort to introduce a wider audience to the extraordinary situations and people captured in feature length non-fiction films, the festival’s organisers will present three free screenings of the film ‘Dark Horse’ as it takes its festival on the road this June.
The family friendly film is an inspirational true story about a group of friends from a working men’s club who decide to take a punt on the elite sport of kings and breed a racehorse.
Replicating what will take place at the Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival, the film will be followed with a Skype Q&A session.
The Q&A will be hosted by dual Emmy-Award winning CDOC Festival Director, Geoffrey Smith, who will converse with the film’s director, Louise Osmond.
Other free screenings will take place in Castlemaine on June 17 and Bendigo on June 24.
These free screenings are supported by the Regional Centre for Culture Program.
The full programme for the 2018 Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival, held at the iconic Theatre Royal Castlemaine from 20-22 July 2018, will be announced at the screenings.
