Jake Vernal, a 23-year-old cabinet making apprentice from Trentham East will head to Sydney this week to take part in the WorldSkills National Championships.

He will join over 400 competitors from across the country to compete for the title of ‘National Champion’ in 50 trade and skill categories.
Mr Vernal earned his place at the National Championships after a strong performance at the 2017 WorldSkills Australia Regional Competitions.
“Being chosen is such an honour and I can’t wait to see what I can achieve,” he said.
