The project, which comprises four workshops led by industry professionals, guides children through an exploration of film and is managed by three Trentham creatives, Katrina Douglas, Charmaine Smith and Kylie McRae.
“One of the main reasons for starting the program was to give local professionals a chance to do what they love where they live,” Ms Douglas said.
The first workshop, Storytelling and Approach, lead by filmmaker Andrew Ferguson, was held on May 13 and attended by more than 70 children.
The second, Filmmaking Tips was lead by filmmaker Kate Matthews.
The third and fourth workshops, Creating an Original Score or Soundscape and Post Production, will be lead by musician Robbie Melville and composer Kelly Ryall.
Ms Douglas said the team are currently in talks about the way forward and are looking at partnerships that will ensure the program will continue to grow in future.
