Ellie Beer, Library and Visitor Services Coordinator of Hepburn Shire Council, said having a good, strong web presence is essential to bringing tourists to the region.
She said there have always been visit websites, but in the past there were four separate websites for Creswick, Clunes, Daylesford and Trentham, which were outdated and difficult to navigate.
Hepburn Shire Council Mayor John Cottrell said the new website provides a fresh look.
“The recently launched Visit Hepburn Shire website is vibrant and engaging, and has new functionality to create a better visitor experience.
“The site focuses on connecting the towns and villages of the shire and presenting visitors with a wide range of experiences.
“Visitors to our Visitor Information Centres want the local insight to the region, so we’ve added a ‘Live Like a Local’ section on the website to provide users the local tips they are after.
“The business portal has also been improved to give businesses within the shire the best exposure possible,” he said.
