Friday, Young bands from Castlemaine/Daylesford @ Spa Bar, Daylesford
Stop That Mammoth is a six-piece all-girl band that writes original songs incorporating multiple genres to create a upbeat funky sound with a banging rock/ska rhythm section complemented by smooth saxophones and vocals.
The Wilsons are an indie/pop three-piece, with music reminiscent of classic 80s and 90s indie rock like Stereo Lab and the Sarah Records and C86 era bands. Lloyd, Gussie and the recent addition Tino craft fun easy listening pop songs that will warm your ears.
Saturday Double Feature @ Spa Bar, Daylesford
Fortress of Narzod, 7.30-9pm
Described as a sonic assault from the outer reaches of the most darken psyche, this trio was brought together through a love of early 70s hard rock and punk, all eras of stoner rock and anything in between. Their purpose is to create noise – and lots of it. If you can’t get there, you can probably hear them from your house.
Animal Hands, 9-10.30pm
Another rock band from Melbourne. The band's line-up includes founder and songwriter Danielle Whalebone (vocals, guitar) with Kleber Croccia (lead guitar), Jamie O’Shea (bass guitar) and Nigel Judd (drums).
Animal Hands released their self-titled EP in 2013 at Cherry Bar in ACDC Lane.
The band's music has been described as bittersweet alternative rock. Get your black T-shirts out.
