Trentham finished its first season in Gisborne District Cricket Association on a high by recording a great win against second-placed Woodend last month. Unfortunately it missed out on making C-grade finals but put in a creditable performance with five wins in this strong grade.

The Saints successfully chased down Woodend’s imposing 335-run total with three wickets in hand and three overs remaining. This was a fitting end for club veteran, Mark Reid, who retires from open-age cricket after a long and rewarding career.
Congratulations go to Chris Boyer on topping the club batting average and Adam Prewett on leading the club bowling average. Other players to stand out this season were Sam Hewitt, Harley Forgo and Jake Sartori who each had an excellent season with the bat.
Disappointingly, the Saints experienced a marked decrease in player numbers and could only field one senior team. The club is well resourced and strongly encourages more people to consider joining: contact Harley Forgo on 0437 009528.
