The Trentham Food Hub is hosting the event in collaboration with some of the region’s renowned chefs and producers.
Since its inception in 2012, the event has sold out every year.
The dinner celebrates local and seasonal produce with a six course banquet.
Most of the fruit, vegetables and other produce is sourced within 40km of Trentham, with the recipes for the event being curated by a collective of chefs from local restaurants.
Suppliers for the event include Angelica Organic Farm, Milking Yard Farm, Mount Franklin Organics, Jonai Farms, Wombat Forest Organics, Vue de Volcan Farm, Adsum Farmhouse, Goldfields Farmhouse, Barfold Olives, Meredith Dairy, Sandor’s Harvest and Tuki.
The participating chefs for this year’s event are Gary Thomas (for the fourth consecutive year) and Andrew Dennis from Spade to Blade Catering in Daylesford, Mark Mills and Brendan Hutchinson from The Plough in Myrniong, and Catherine Speirs from Belle Patisserie in Woodend.
Hailing from Trentham is John Reid from Redbeard Bakery, Dave McKibbin from The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Annie Smithers from her restaurant Du Fermier.
In addition to the region’s cuisine, guests have the opportunity to visit the events cocktail lounge.
The lounge will offer ‘tipples of the terroir’ from the finest steepers, stompers, brewers and bottlers in the region.
The drinks are selected in collaboration with the Cosmopolitan Wine Cellar and are available for standard bar prices.
Spirited surprises will also be on offer for those feeling creatively inclined.
Funds raised at the dinner will contribute to the development of not-for-profit local fruit and vegetable distribution, workshops, community events and associated projects of the Trentham Food Hub, which is a grassroots social enterprise.
The Trentham Food Hub is a network of people who are passionate about working within the region’s community to expand the capacity of the region’s food and fibre industry.
The event promises a night filled with laughter, great conversations, food and old-fashioned country hospitality.
