Bruton made her first official appearance for the Western Bulldogs on Sunday in the team’s victory over Fremantle.
The Bulldogs flew out of the blocks, holding the Dockers scoreless until half time, before going on to record a 7.7 (49) to 3.5 (23) success.
Bruton recorded five disposals and made four tackles in a role that was mainly up forward.
The former Golden Point footballer, who was recruited to the Bulldogs with pick 11 in last year’s national draft, rated her debut performance as “not too bad”.
“I could have done a bit better,” Bruton said. “I was a bit nervous. When I got the ball, I sort of fumbled a bit, but it wasn’t too bad. I’ve got to get used to it because it was so much quicker.”
Bruton and her teammates played in front of a crowd of 8500 at the Whitten Oval.

The 22-year-old will return to work alongside her father this week before flying up to Brisbane on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Lions.
Up there, Ballarat exports Kaitlyn Ashmore and Nicole Hildebrand will be waiting.
The duo helped Brisbane beat the Adelaide Crows in a rematch of last year’s grand final at the weekend.
Ashmore kicked a goal and was named in the Lions’ best, with former Mount Clear College student Sally Riley part of the beaten Crows outfit.
On Friday night, close to 20,000 fans turned out at Ikon Park to watch Carlton defeat Collingwood in the opening match of the new season.
After a game that returned 12 disposals, former Redan player Danielle Hardiman was named in the best for the Blues, which also featured Ballarat’s Natalie Plane.
Bree White, a former Loreto student, played well for the Magpies.
