On a night with reduced player numbers, there was a bit of mixing and matching for matches but Hobson’s Heroes took a convincing 41/7 win against Secondary Teachers, who looked to still be in holiday mode.
In other results: Albert’s Aces, 37, beat Hepburn Healthy 11; Bold and Beautiful, 30, sorted out the Pistols, 18; Rod’s Rockets overrode Newbies (no scores supplied).
In section one, a Barry-less Barry’s Diamonds (instead led by Pete of the Pistols), defeated President’s Men, 18-14.
Lew Ingham had a big day out in Saturday section one competition with a 29/9 win while Greg Malcher scratched out an all-square 18/18 for second.
Daylesford junior competition continues on Saturday morning, with their championships set for February 24.
Senior championships are booked for Saturday afternoon, February 17 with the Sunday available if required. The club encourages all members to join in the championships. It is a fun day and continues an important tradition of the club, dating back many decades.
The club is also keen to see players who have not played for a long time have a go at returning to the game.
