The show will be held in public swimming pools in Clunes, Newham and Trentham.
In The Deep End is co-directed by artists Rebecca Russell and Christy Flaws but created in collaboration with the children, who are aged between eight and 15 years.
“Lazy days in the local pool are an iconic part of an Aussie summer. We wanted to explore that in our show and through physical theatre, celebrate how spaces like pools can be transformed to capture people’s imaginations,” said Ms Flaws.
Ms Russell said: “As we’ve developed the show the kids have become more confident in their skills and what they can do with their own bodies, and more creatively involved in the production process.”
In The Deep End will be in Clunes on January 19 and 20 from 7pm. The show will travel to Trentham on January 27 and Newstead on March 3.
Entry is free and people are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and chairs.
