Entertainment for children will include hoola hoops, a giant slide, jumping castle and petting zoo, for some old-fashioned fun before the parade.
Daylesford resident and event organiser Catherine Davies is encouraging businesses, community groups and families to enter a float into the parade.
“We had some amazing floats back in the day. One year a family built a bread oven on the back of the truck, baked bread and handed it out to people.”
Prizes will be on offer for different categories of floats including walking and sustainability floats.
The gala kicks off on Vincent Street from 6pm with food trucks and entertainment before the parade at 8pm.
