Tristan Leyshan, 10, Matthew O'Brien, 12, Lachlan O'Keefe, 12, and Archie Caldow, 11, we all represent Victoria after winning their respective School State Victoria events in October.
They will take on competitors from all around Australia as well as some overseas athletes.
Leyshan will run in the 200m and medley relay, O’Brien is also competing in the sprint events – 100m, 200m and relay. Caldow is an 800m and 1500m runner while O’Keefe is a high jumper.
Ballarat Little Athletics committee member and under-11 coach Trent Leyshan was stoked with the boys’ achievements.
“I’m very proud of them, they did a great job,” Leyshan said.
“Obviously going to the big smoke, being country kids they can sometimes be a bit intimidated, but it was great to see them do well.
“Athletics is a good base for other sports, definitely watch this space with them.”
