Almost 400 pilgrims enjoyed the summer-like weather and the spiritual refreshment of a very long walk on the annual Christus Rex Pilgrimage from Ballarat to Bendigo.

The annual pilgrimage, in its 27th year in 2017, involves walking the 120 kilometre route over three days from St Patrick’s Cathedral, Ballarat, to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo, through Creswick, Smeaton and Newstead.
The event is held to coincide the feast of Christ the King in the Church calendar It draws pilgrims from all across Australia and New Zealand, and internationally.
The pilgrimage ended on Sunday afternoon, with a mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo celebrated by Bishop Peter Elliott, Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne and Bishop Les Tomlinson, the Bishop of the Sandhurst Diocese.
