Karise Eden’s has a big powerful voice – raw and authentic, beyond her years.
After busking and playing festivals on the Central Coast, she was launched into the national spotlight in 2012 after being prompted to enter the first series of The Voice Australia. Her blind audition was a standout, impressing judges and the live audience. That footage has since been viewed on YouTube 32 million times. She went on to break sales and chart records before taking an extended break. Eden’s shows are now a unique and entertaining mix of her heart-wrenching, soulful voice with a relaxed and cheeky stage presence.
At this intimate gig, she will perform soul songs that channel the greats of our time and new songs she’s working on for her upcoming album.
Thursday, Z-STAR DELTA @ The Spa Bar, Daylesford
Z-STAR DELTA is the stripped-back delta blues/rock flipside of British band Z-STAR. The explosive duo features guitar prodigy Sebastien Heintz with the award-winning frontwoman Zee Gachette deemed “one to watch” by BBC Radio 2, on acoustic guitar and drums, who “effortlessly deliver a fascinating cinematic road trip of sound’. The duo’s material veers from acoustic-driven songs to rock.
Performances have included gigs at the Spiegeltent at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Blue Mountains Music Festival, with a headline slot at Feast Festival in Adelaide this November.
Saturday, Howling Owls @ The Spa Bar
The Howling Owls are a five-piece eclectic garage rock group. Locally based, their rock style spreads from rhythm/blues/country, playing originals to classic obscure covers.
Friday, The GPS @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Saturday, Five Mile Sniper @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Sunday, Jazz Deuce @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Featuring Norm Gray on flugelhorn and vocals, and Simon Wigney on guitar, this duo plays the great American jazz standards of the 1930s through to the ’50s. Tunes made popular by Sinatra, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and Jobim provide a nice background to wining, dining, romancing and relaxing.
