Pupils from the Goldfields Cluster schools recently took to the sporting grounds at Daylesford’s St Michael’s Primary School for the annual winter sports day.
The Goldfields Cluster, which consists of schools from Daylesford, Creswick and Clunes, meets annually for a variety of activities.
More than 200 pupils took part in the events like football, netball, soccer and newcomb, a variation of volleyball.
Dozens of teachers, support staff and parents were on hand to cheer the pupils on.
The age of participants ranged from eight to 12 years, and there was no “winning school” for the day.
The only Goldfields Cluster event that has a trophy is the athletics event, which St Michael’s has won for the last few years.
Organisers said the winter sports day was a chance for children to have a go, with particular excitement around the Daylesford Primary and St Michael’s football game.
