Sections of Daylesford-Malmsbury Road will be repaired under a $48 million state government cash splash on country roads.

The package includes rebuilding 5.5 kilometres of the road at Malmsbury.
Sections of the Glenelg Highway, Pyrenees Highway and the Bacchus Marsh-Gisborne Road will also be repaired.
Western Victoria MP Jaala Pulford said the investment will improve the safety and reliability of roads that connect residents, visitors and primary producers.
“We know how important local roads are to country communities, that’s why we’ve doubled Victoria’s spending on road maintenance since coming to office,” she said.
“Regional Victorians deserve a safe and smooth road network so over the next 12 months VicRoads will be doing more pavement work than it has done in decades.”
Works will start between October 2017 and April 2018, when dryer weather allows new road surfaces to cure.
VicRoads will continue to monitor the roads for hazards, undertake short term safety repairs and install signage to warn road users of potential changes in conditions, until significant repairs are complete.
The temporary reduced speed limits currently in place will be removed once this is done.
