Frederick Camden Mayne’s service medals were handed to staff at a Wodonga shopping centre more than a year ago.
Police were able to link the medals, badges, two watches and other jewellery to Mr Mayne, but extensive enquiries have been unable to find his next of kin.
Mr Mayne was born in Trentham in May 1907 and Wodonga Detective Leading Senior Constable Ian Deverell said the items could be of sentimental value.
“I think relatives would really appreciate having them returned – they're family heirlooms,” he said.
Police have been unable to link the medals to any crimes.
