Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club’s Thursday twilight tennis came to an end week as Barry’s Diamonds finally outshone Pete’s Pistols to win 25/23.

Maniacs 10 lost to Tania’s Team 38 and the mighty Flappers 35 beat the Secondary Teachers 13.
Meanwhile, on courts 9 and 10 Hobson’s Heroes and friends spent a relaxing evening just hitting a few balls around.
Saturday
On Saturday afternoon two sections competed in perfect autumnal conditions.
Section 1
Visitor Kelvin Noonan’s superior courtcraft won Section 1 with 21/12, ahead of Pete Ekstedt’s 21/17. Lewis Ingham was third with 17/15, ahead of Brian Hurse 19/18.
Section 2
Brian Nolan was the emphatic winner with 24/6, while Julian McLucas’s aggression yielded him second place with 21/14.
On Thursday nights players can just turn up to see what happens for the next few weeks until daylight saving ends.
Saturday afternoon tennis will continue until Easter and possibly beyond, weather dependent.
