The choir began after a group of women travelled to Ballarat for breast screenings.
The health nurse, Ally Parnaby, noticed the singing on the bus on the way home provided connection and joy for the women.
She encouraged Anni Coyne to facilitate a community women’s choir that would promote health and wellbeing.
Sweet Justice is a community choir and has created two CDs since they began.
The first was of angel songs and recorded in the chapel of The Convent.
The second was of songs about water.
As part of Sweet Justice’s 10-year celebrations, the women will sing in the chapel of The Convent from 1.15pm on Monday, May 20. Everyone is welcome.
“Singing has been proven to improve health and wellbeing,” Ms Coyne said.
“Singing with others has even more benefits.
“We meet each Monday from 1pm to sing and enjoy catching up over a cuppa afterwards.”
