Championship leader Brodie Kostecki will start from the front for the eighth time this year after securing pole position in the final Gold Coast 500 top-10 shootout. Kostecki, who incurred a kerb strike in qualifying for Saturday's race, made no mistake on Sunday as he pursues a maiden Supercars championship title. The Erebus driver leads Shane van Gisbergen by 104 points on the overall championship standings with three races left this season. Red Bull's van Gisbergen picked up a kerb strike on the narrow streets of Surfers Paradise in the shootout and will start ninth on the grid. Consistency continued for Penrite Racing's David Reynolds and rookie Matthew Payne who were second and third fastest respectively. The pair have showed terrific pace throughout the weekend after Reynolds delivered a podium finish in the opening 250km race. Saturday's winner Cam Waters held provisional pole after setting the fastest time of the weekend in Q1, but locked up entering turn 11 and will start seventh. Race 26 - the final run at this year's Gold Coast 500 - is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
