Kamen Ogilvie had a big season for the Burras in 2017, but has lodged a clearance to East Sunbury in the Essendon District competition.
Ogilvie was recruited to the Burras from East Sunbury for the most recent campaign. He played 18 senior games for Hepburn, kicked 12 goals and was named in the side’s best on four occasions.
The fleet-footed onballer also represented the CHFL in the interleague battle with the Southern competition during May.
The Highlanders suffered their second-straight loss in the AFL Victoria Community Championships, going down by just four points in Lyndhurst.
Ogilvie departs a Hepburn team that will be coached by Segifili Asa Leausa next year. Asa Leausa has taken charge following the resignation of Jason Olver, who guided the club to the flag.
Meanwhile, three CHFL clubs are still yet to announce senior coaches for the 2018 season.
Springbank is out to replace Michael Searl, Gordon is chasing a successor to Gary Learmonth and Learmonth is hunting someone to fill the vacancy left by Steve Biggin.
The most recent to confirm a coach is Daylesford, which will be steered by Zac Tisdale next season.
Meanwhile, the clock continues to tick for three Central Highlands Football League clubs yet to sign senior coaches for 2018.
Springbank, Gordon and Learmonth are busy working hard behind the scenes in the hope of appointing a leader for their next campaign.
The Tigers appeared on the verge of an announcement last week, but as of Sunday a replacement for Michael Searl was not yet confirmed.
Searl stepped down from the helm following last season’s preliminary final defeat, ending his two-year tenure at Tigerland.
The playing leader, who announced his decision in August and before the CHFL finals series, did the job in a joint capacity with Nick Couch in 2016, but on his own in 2017.
Gordon is chasing a replacement for Gary Learmonth, who departed following the semi-final loss to the Tigers.
The non-playing coach spent two years at the Eagles’ helm, but could not get the club back into a grand final.
Learmonth is the other club still hunting a senior coach. It is understood the Lakies have approached a number of people about the job, but have been unsuccessful in securing a person.
