Mayor Sebastian Klein and three other keen tasters will judge the Lyonville Bake Off entries before they are sold to visitors at a cake stall on Sunday. Funds raised will help upgrade the wood chop arena and complete work on the hall roof and plumbing.
Lyonville Hall Committee secretary Dorothy Fuller said the hall was important to the Lyonville community.
“It’s a real hub for socialising and bringing together both young and old,” Mrs Fuller said.
“A lot of families come and enjoy the playground. Then at the other end of the spectrum, retirees in the area are using the hall as a social gathering place.
“It’s something for everyone, as well as an opportunity for people that are not from the area to book and host events here.”
The Lyonville Bake Off and cake stall will be held at the Lyonville Hall on Sunday from 11.30am to 3.30pm. Savoury food and sweet treats will be on sale with art activities, face-painting and craft stalls also on offer.
