The event, Rural Women Uncovered, encourages a celebration of connections with rural Victoria
The simple fact is rural women have to be many things – farmers, financial wizards, trade negotiators, marketers and sometimes health care workers.
- Sandy McDonald, Rural Women Uncovered speaker
Run by the Victorian Farmers Federation, the two-day event aims to focus on creating healthy business practices by sharing stories of women inspiring their communities. The influence of voice will be a focus of conversation.
Guest speaker Sandy McDonald said the Rural Women Uncovered event was for women to boost knowledge and skills across the multiple roles they have to fulfil.
“The simple fact is rural women have to be many things – farmers, financial wizards, trade negotiators, marketers and sometimes health care workers,” she said.
“That’s why the Rural Women Uncovered event is structured to help women boost their knowledge and skills across these diverse roles.”
Event special guests speakers include NSW Rural Women finalist Hayley Purbrick and AgTech entrepreneur Ros Harvey.
Delegates to the event will learn about the power of stories, be encouraged to share theirs and given advice on the changes they can make in their own communities.
The event motto is “be refreshed, inspired and motivated to find your voice in agriculture”.
The Victorian Farmers Federation two-day conference will be held at RACV Goldfields Resort in Creswick on Thursday and Friday.
