The local findings follow national figures, which found over nine million Australians are physically inactive, with the average Aussie having only exercised six times in the past three months.
Medibank has announced the launch of a free social activity program to improve the health and wellbeing of communities.
Daylesford residents are encouraged to register their interest to see a free, timed, weekly running and walking event in the town.
Five locations have already been chosen for the event and another 35 towns will be chosen based on community interest.
