Three $260,000 grants will be awarded to successful applicants to create work for the 2018 Regional Centre for Culture program.
The program is a year-long celebration of arts, culture and community in Victoria’s regions. Hepburn Shire forms one of four regions covered in 2018 including City of Greater Bendigo, Mount Alexander and Central Goldfields.
These commissions are a great opportunity for our local artists to dream up ambitious and large-scale projects.

Funded creative projects can range from visual art to performance, digital games to design and fashion, covering all creative forms. The three selected works will be presented within the City of Greater Bendigo between mid-August and mid-October 2018.
Applications are open to all Victorian creatives, with a priority for those based in the Regional Centre for Culture area.
The program will give priority to projects made for, by, or with young people and their families, reflecting history and presence of Victoria’s Aboriginal people and those developed through collaborations.
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas said the commissions were a great opportunity for local artists to dream up ambitious and large-scale projects.
“The Regional Centre for Culture program will be a wonderful celebration of our region and showcase the creativity of our local artists like never before,” she said.
A second funding program will provide grants from $1500 to $30,000 for local individuals, groups or organisations to hold events or showcases during the Regional Centre for Culture.
The community was invited to learn more about the grants and Regional Centre for Culture at town hall meetings on Wednesday August 16.
