City of Ballarat is opening Mars Stadium up free to the community on Saturday in a special chance to explore behind the scenes before the first AFL premiership season takes to the ground next month.
The public can take a walk about the new grandstands, test out the 5000-odd undercover seats or warm up the interchange bench.
It is the first in a series of City-led events in the Celebration of Football, building up to AFL reigning premier Western Bulldogs hosting Port Adelaide on August 19.
The community open day will also feature a free sausage sizzle.
This is the first time stadium redevelopment works will be completely open to the Ballarat community.
Mars Stadium is open to the public from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
