WESTERN Bulldogs premiership players Easton Wood and Jordan Roughead have been catching up on good books with young Ballarat readers. The pair have Skyped in with Canadian Lead pupils for a chat on the book reviews they have been busy writing and uploading to the Bulldogs’ website.

Their bookish play is part of the Bulldogs-led literacy program, giving pupils in grades three to six a boost in their reading and writing.
The Ballarat program, in partnership with Ballarat Library, also includes pupils at Wendouree, St Francis Xavier, St Columbas, Phoenix, St Patrick’s Gordon and Delacombe primary schools.
Strong, towering Bulldogs’ forward Tom Boyd has also made a good impression on junior participants from the program launch in February.
Canadian Lead have joined The Courier’s Adopt A Dog campaign, to help make Ballarat a ‘Dog-friendly city by AFL match day on August 19.
