If stage one of that mission is anything to go by, the St Pat’s boys are well on their way.
It was ruthless in its destruction of Ballarat Clarendon College in Wednesday’s Ballarat Associated Schools grand final, posting a 22.10 (142) – 6.5 (41) victory.
The 101-point win capped what was an ominous BAS campaign.
St Patrick’s College defeated Ballarat Grammar by 104 points, Ballarat Clarendon College by 101 points (group stage) and Ballarat High School by 153 points en route to another three-figure win in the grand final.
Coach Howard Clark was immensely proud of his chargers post-match and spoke of the value this group has placed on regaining what it believes is theirs – the Herald Sun Shield.

“The legacy’s about being able to redefine the school and make sure that this year in the Herald Sun Shield campaign they avenge last year’s one-point loss.
“The boys have been very strong in trying to redeem the loss of last year’s Herald Sun Shield campaign.”
St Patrick’s College now turns its attention to the Herald Sun Shield semi-final on July 19. It is still awaiting its opponent.
