Young basketball players had the chance to practice their skills with an Olympian on Saturday afternoon during a clinic with Boomer Chris Goulding at the Mars Minerdome.

Goulding – a member of the fourth-placed Boomers squad in the Rio Olympics – said it was fantastic to meet the young talent and teach them some new tricks.
“It’s great being able to share the skills I’ve learned over my career with eager young kids, and playing with brand new basketballs always helps,” Goulding said.
Players from Ballarat’s junior elite under-12 and under-14 boys and girls teams were invited to take part in the skills clinic and each received a basketball.
The Australian Boomer and Melbourne United shooting guard was in Ballarat to deliver new equipment to basketball clubs as part of McDonald’s grassroots sporting initiative Macca’s On Your Team.
Ballarat’s seven basketball associations, and the McDonald’s Ballarat Youth League Miners and Rush teams have received Molten basketball packs.
