Artist Jodie Goldring is facilitating the project with selected Year 7 and 10 students throughout the school term.
Students participated in a four-day intensive program last week and will dedicate one day a week to art for the rest of the term.
The project involves the creation of sculptural installations exploring concepts of flux and change, focusing on transforming spaces using sculpture and transforming materials from rubbish to art.
Year 7 student Miranda said it was fun and inspiring to do be able to experiment and create.
“We use old things to create art. Instead of throwing it away you can create something special,” she said.
“I have been through a lot of change in my life, so I can connect to this theme of flux and change.”
Daylesford Secondary College art teacher Lisa Gunders said the theme fits well with the infrastructure change happening at the school.
