Thursday, April 27, Grumpy Neighbour @ Horvat’s Supper Club
The members of Grumpy Neighbour (alt-country and twisted folk Taswegian tunes) still hail from the “far north of the deep south”.
They've been wandering their merry way along the dusty backroads and dirt tracks of this nation on a search for revelation and some place called “farther down the line”.
Strong, catchy melodies feature choice harmonies, backed up by guitars, mandolins and the occasional horn or melodica.
Boy Sitting on a Bag of Potatoes is a folk/pop/country epic set somewhere in rural Australia that covers a diverse range of themes, told from the perspective of a rustic morality tale.
Grumpy Neighbour have three full-length releases in their online storefront, with their latest, Judas Ute released in late 2011.

Saturday, April 22, Tom And Meredith @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Sunday, April 23, Buck Jr @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Sunday, April 23, The Resignators and Los Kung Fu Monkey @ Old Hepburn Hotel
The Resignators – Korweinguboora’s purveyors of skankin’ good vibe – will be at the pub to promote their upcoming release, Party Dates.
The Resignators have a high-energy stage show, offbeat rhythms and dynamic four-piece horn section – rocking audiences worldwide with an eclectic mix of ska-flavoured punk rock.
They're bringing their mates, two-tone inspired ska kids Los Kung Fu Monkeys, from Mexico, with them.
The Monkeys are a ska punk band based out of Canada and Mexico.
Formed in 1997, when brothers Tarek and Hassan Limas and Bernardo Leos joined their talents, they have toured the world with many major acts such as The Misfits, Dropkick Murphys and Madness.
Sunday, April 23, Neil Murray with Lucie Thorne @ The Grande, Hepburn Springs
Neil Murray is one of Australia's most respected and influential singer-songwriters.
He penned My Island Home, something of an unofficial anthem and has just been awarded the 2017 Port Fairy Folk Festival Artist of the Year award.
He will join Lucie Thorne, one of Australia's most striking contemporary songsmiths, for an exclusive and intimate double-bill concert.
Two fabulous artists on the one bill – a show not to be missed.
Murray first appeared in the early 80s as a founding member of the Warumpi Band, which over three albums (Big Name, No Blankets, Go Bush, Too Much Humbug) and 20 years of performing propelled contemporary indigenous music into mainstream Australia.
Murray has since become one of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters and has enjoyed a solo career since 1989.
Thorne, one of my favourite artists, is a frequent visitor to the area and a must see if you haven’t caught her already.
Her latest work, 2015’s Everything Sings Tonight, is probably her best work.
A collaboration between Thorne and long-time musical partner, legendary drummer Hamish Stuart, Everything Sings Tonight marks a bold and musically adventurous new direction for the pair.
Lead single The Rushing Dark features Thorne’s signature poetics and harmony and the musical magic of special guests Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown) and Chris Abrahams (The Necks).
It will be a delight to see Thorne in this intimate setting, where she will feature selections from her impressive body of work and her exquisite guitar skills on Loretta, her 1966 Guild Starfire.
