Shannon Trial Pty Ltd has applied to renew its higher mass limit along East Street in Daylesford in order to transport quarry materials, in particular the turn-off from Knox Street. The company expect to make 260 trips along the route per year.
Nunn Bros Haulage Pty Ltd is also applying for a weight exemption along a stretch of Daylesford-Clunes Road in Lawrence, however they only anticipate using the route twice a year.
Powercor Australia has also made an application to use rigid trucks and jinker trailers along all council operated roads.
Council officers have assessed roads as being suitable for heavy vehicles subject to conditions and recommended councillors pass the changes, with Nunn Bros recommended to be granted three years and Powercor and Shannon Trial one year. Council officers are suggesting the heavy vehicles should only operate between 7am and 6pm.
