The sheriff’s officer used automatic number plate recognition technology to clamp down on fine evaders in Trentham on Saturday.
The joint sheriff’s and Victoria Police operation identified 16 fine evaders with 231 outstanding warrants valued at more than $79,000.
The operation was aimed at locating fine evaders and encouraging them to take steps to clear their outstanding debts. Victorian sheriff Brendan Facey said the operation should serve as a reminder that those flouting the law would be caught.

- Three drivers had their wheels clamped and were required to arrange payment to have the clamps removed.
- Five drivers with 102 warrants worth over $40,000 were notified their licence or registration would be suspended if they did not pay in seven days.
