The Walking and Footpath Expansion Program 2017-2020 which forms part of the council’s Walking and Cycling Strategy will be put before council at the meeting.
While works allocated for 2016/17 include footpaths on Ligar Street in Clunes, West Street in Daylesford, Melbourne Road in Creswick and Mineral Springs Crescent in Hepburn, a walking trail from Clunes to Fairview Estate has also been proposed.
The expected construction comes after the council allocated $200,000 to the footpath expansion program as part of the 2016/17 budget.
Other works expected to be undertaken in 2017/18 include the Domino Trail in Trentham, footpath expansion on the Midlands Highway in Daylesford, Kyneton Trentham Road in Trentham, Bridport Street in Daylesford and Glenlyon Springs.
