Phil Edgeley – hard-edged blues slide trouper and nimble-fingered folk alchemist – plays his trademark Churchill acoustic, Tim Kill Weissenborn and National Steel guitars. In the words of Jim Conway, Phil is a “masterful guitarist and songwriter who performs with great heart and passion”. His British folk/blues songwriting is complimented by Trudy Edgeley’s tempos and melodies.
Saturday, Jesse Jackson @ Old Hepburn Hotel
Jesse’s one-woman show has blues, folk, country rock and soul covers, with originals in the mix.
Friday, Adrian Deakin @ Horvat’s Supper Club
A masterful pianist, taking punters on journeys where there have been comparisons to both Bach and The Necks.
Friday, Kelly Auty @The Grande, Hepburn
The fabulous Kelly Auty is returning for an acoustic show including blues, gospel, R&B, soul, rock, country, French Chanson and jazz. She'll be supported by Boris Conley on the venue’s baby grand, singing favourites from such greats as Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, Edith Piaf, Peggy Lee, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Eva Cassidy and Aretha Franklin.
Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Friday: Scott Fraser. Something of a guitar-playing journey man, Fraser has played gigs for the Hells Angels in a small pub in the middle of Victoria and for Heart Kids at Lindsay Fox's car museum in Melbourne.
His album Tired Town features originals with Damian Howard and Brendan O'Neill, and Fred Sass on harp and guitar.
Saturday: Caroline Gale. Gale has a high vocal range and plays both guitar and piano. She likes to create variety when she performs, mixing her sets with both originals and covers.
Sunday: Nico Ellerby. Daylesford’s Ellerby is a creative singer-songwriter with great storytelling ability, creative songwriting, some particularly unique vocals. It all makes for clever and catchy songs. With some full length band albums releases over the last couple of years – including Fractured and Come Around, Ellerby continues to hone his own style.
A great chance to sample his recorded works in acoustic mode.
