The defeat came at the hands of Forest White, who beat Daylesford 2 to 1.
Daylesford had the lead at half-time and was on top of the match convincingly, but a second half nightmare was waiting.
The pitch didn't help, with both teams struggling at the lake end, and lost confidence in passing around.
Daylesford hit the post and narrowly missed a few chances, but Forest played the better game for the final 30 minutes and piled on the pressure.
Daylesford scored through Dragi Koleski, after the keeper could only parrie Ivan Carter's well-timed volley. Koleski then saved a certain goal at the other end, and was best on ground.
Highlights were far and few between, with the team missing Gonzalo Silva and Sean Brokedown.
They will need to lift to match it with premieres Buningyong next weekend at Morshead Park.
Score: 2 to 1.
Best: Koleski, Pelham, Carter, Robb, Masuda.
