TWO people are dead after the car they were traveling in left the road and struck a tree in Daylesford this morning, police say.

Police are on the scene of the double fatality that left a third person with minor injuries.
It is believed the car was travelling on the Midland Highway before Daylesford when it left the road and struck the tree just before 8am.
Police believe black ice was a contributing factor the collision.
The driver and passenger died at the scene and have not yet been formally identified.
The backseat passenger has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Investigation are continuing.
