Saturday, Wayne Kilbourne EP launch and fundraiser @ Old Hepburn Hotel
The pub interrupt their normal performance afternoon program to bring you a very special event showcasing local musical artists who have had the pleasure of recording under Wayne Kilbourne’s keen musical ear.
The gig will launch the exclusive EP of Wayne’s own original music, available for purchase for the first time at this gig. All proceeds will go to the Kilbourne family to assist in Wayne’s medical treatment as he battles cancer.
The event opens at 4pm , with toe tapping jazz tunes from sultry swing duo Vida Jazz, followed by the beautifully lyrical folk of Tony English. Pete Rowland teams up with the Reverend Al Stanley to perform their original laid back danceable rhythms on guitar and driving percussion.
They are followed by Jack Larm, John Howell, Dave Marshall and Olie Patsch’s newest progressive rock ensemble Ten Story Tale. The event finishes with the hip-hop rhythms of Kicks. The rumour around town is that a special finale act may grace the stage!
Saturday @Theatre Royal, Castlemaine
Melbourne seven piece Sol Nation is excited to be hitting the road to promote its debut album Melting Pot. With a charismatic, high energy, infectious live show, and a strong global conscience, Sol Nation is a must-see musical experience.
It guarantees a performance to remember via its own unique fusion of reggae, samba, funk, salsa, East Timorese folksong and African dance music and is a great reflection of its multicultural hometown of Melbourne.
Sol Nation are impassioned musicians who draw upon their wealth of years of experience performing in other bands : most notably at its heart lies the reggae experience of Paulo Almeida (The Dili Allstars), the rock charisma of Colin Badger (Painters & Dockers), and the fiery ardor of songstress Deline Briscoe (The Black Arm Band).
