Pupils from prep to grade 6 dressed up at characters from shortlisted Children’s Book Award books and performed dramatic role plays to parents and friends.
Grade 1J pulled on their pyjamas to bring Go to Sleep Jessie to life.
Amelia Seidler was narrator.
“The book was written by Libby Gleeson and Jessie doesn’t want to go to bed,” Amelia said.
“They tried everything and nothing worked.
“Then – they all jumped in her bed.”
Amelia enjoyed projecting her voice through the microphone, dressing up and performing on stage.
Pupils from all levels discussed the themes of the shortlisted books in class and then interpreted the ideas and performed them to school.
