The couple, who live in the tiny township just out of Daylesford, started the business just under a year ago.
They sell their unique, hand-made ring boxes through the online marketplace Etsy.
Their Secret Sharer pieces are constructed from single pieces of wood and are designed to hold rings.
Mrs King, an academic, was rifling through her husband’s spare wood collection one day when she came up with the idea of creating small storage boxes.
“I began exploring this idea of creating a faceted box for storing jewellery,” Mrs King said.
“This box, in its natural wood shape, would hold a secret – and the idea of the storage box has taken off, particularly for people planning to propose.”
The made-to-order boxes can be made from any type of wood.
“We like the boxes to be personal and the individual’s story is at the heart of our designs,” Mrs King said.
The Kings speak to every client and find out their story.
“They might say they lived on a property with a lot of blackwood – so they want the box to be made out of blackwood,” she said.
Mrs King said she was honoured to be nominated for Etsy’s new store award.
“We were really surprised and delighted,” Mrs King said.
“The beauty of Etsy is that it is an online marketplace and a unique way to sell products.”
Etsy’s managing director Australia and Asia, Helen Souness said she was astonished by the breadth of creative talent displayed by the 2015 Etsy Design Award entrants.
“The diversity of talent in Etsy’s Australian and New Zealand community and the quality of the goods thedesign, make and curate is remarkable,” Mrs Souness.
“Selecting this year’s winners is going to be a challenge for the judges and the public alike.
“We’re honoured that so many exceptionally talented creatives choose Etsy for their online home.
“We are thrilled to be able to once again showcase some of the best of the Etsy seller community through the Etsy Design Awards,” Ms Souness said.
This year’s winners will be treated to a host of prizes designed to help them grow their businesses and profile.
The New Talent and Community Choice winners will also receive a to Etsy’s headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.
Community’s Choice winners will be announced on August 26.
